Excellent stay at this duplex, it was exactly as we expected. The host was very communicative and available, but we didn’t really need him as everything at the property was intuitive and easy to use.- Ben , Posted:
Favorite stay in MN. My two boys are in college in MN and we have been traveling each fall for at least two times each year and have stayed all over the twin cities. This is BY FAR the best location and equipped home we have stayed. My boys love to bring their friends over for home cooked meals during our visits and the kitchen although small is very well equipped with counter space, cupboards and all the supplies needed to cook. The large dining room table was perfect, the huge tv a big hit with all the guys. The sunroom was an extra delight for my daughter and me to enjoy some quiet time, reading and studying. The beds (kind in the master and queen in the extra bedroom) have great linens and are memory foam so very comfy. A/C worked great and was nice to be able to control it in each bedroom. I love having the ability to do laundry when traveling and the washer and dryer worked great. The bathroom is "older" and the toilet one of the small round ones but none of that would keep me from staying here again. (I just like knowing that to be prepared so thought I'd put it in the review). Towels and linens again were high quality. The neighborhood has wonderful restaurants, Butter Café and Pat's Tap were our two favorites and the easy on and off to the freeway made the commute to both our boys college and the airport easy. We enjoyed walks to the parks, lakes and even the famous Lakewood Cemetery was an unexpected treat. Lance was really easy to get ahold of and work with through our booking. I hope all these great things won't make it too hard for us to book it when we need to return!! :)- Kristi C , Posted: 08/26/2016
This home is a beautiful, charming, and well maintained gem in the heart of the city. It is meticulously clean and well stocked with supplies to provide a very comfortable stay. Lance has gone out of his way to create a welcoming environment by supplying quality beds, linens, and toiletries. We even received a bottle of wine as a welcome gift! The home itself is a beautifully preserved and restored Craftsman, full of character and tastefully furnished with interesting art pieces and photos from around the world as well as comfortable, quality furniture. Lance himself is friendly, open, easy to communicate with, and available to address issues or answer questions. Our stay in this home was one of our best Airbnb experiences thus far. We highly recommend it! Thank you, Lance, for making our stay delightful!- Karen , Posted: 11/09/2017
What A Wonderful Stay! My weekend stay at this duplex was perfect! Lance was so responsive, even asking if the cool temperatures might justify turning on the heater. The rooms are large, closets are much larger than I've experienced at other older homes, and my Mother's Day brunch visitors were so impressed with it all! The sunroom is another added attraction -- perfect for morning coffee and reading the newspaper. The location is great -- anything you might need (restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations) are all within a short drive and, in some cases, even a short walk. It's not only close to Uptown, with plenty of activities, but is only 3 blocks from the highway that will take you to other parts of the city. Both of my sons live in Minneapolis, and there's no question I will rent this duplex again. I loved it!- Bill E , Posted: 04/15/2017
Great location, impeccably clean, and well-maintained rental. I stayed here over a long weekend with my parents and our two black labs. We had a wonderful time in this cozy and very nice vacation rental. I really have nothing negative whatsoever to say. The unit was clean and well-appointed, in a great location that's convenient for getting to either downtown and other neighborhoods. There was plenty of space for the three of us and the dogs. The owner was responsive and friendly. It can be difficult to find places that allow pets and, for us, the dogs ARE family, so it's very meaningful to bring them along and have a nice place to stay without exorbitant pet fees. We'd definitely stay here again if we have a similar trip to the Mpls in the future.- Meg , Posted: 01/26/2015
Great family getaway!!!! From the moment we first saw the home online we had a feeling it was going to be a little piece of heaven for us. The owner is VERY accommodating and very nice, allowed us to use his washer and dryer while we stayed and I really appreciate that Lance! This home had plenty of space for our family of 4 to relax and watch movies together at night, home was clean and inviting, gas stove was awesome, fenced back yard was a life saver for our 2 boxers and the sun room was fantastic! We felt secluded which is what we wanted, yet so close to all the places we wanted to visit like Lake Calhoun and Mall of America. Close enough to walk to nearby shopping and restaurants and with the awesome weather here in the summer, what a great way to see the sites! Only negatives for our family were: 1. bathroom shower was small and we are not small people :) 2. locks were sticky so that made coming and going a little tricky and 3. Our mini van was too large to fit in the compact car sized garage and on street parking was difficult-however Lance was kind enough to let us park in front of his garage so problem solved there! We would definitely come back and stay here, what a charming place and what a nice homeowner!!!- Julie S , Posted: 08/15/2016
Mid week stay. Went to the cities to visit our daughters and found this great duplex to stay in. Beautifully decorated, very clean and welcoming lower level house was a huge hit for all of us to meet and enjoy our few days together.- Lisa W , Posted: 03/23/2015
Better than a 4 Star Hotel in a great location! We enjoyed our one month stay (our second one month stay at this location) with our two (1 & 3 yr. old) children. The house is located in one of the nicest areas of the Twin Cities, and is very warm, nicely decorated, with wonderful beds and accomodations. The owner is extremely hospitable and responsive. We plan to stay here again, if available.- Bromo , Posted: 03/09/2016
My Favorite Home Away From Home! This was my second stay here, and it was as wonderful as the first. It is so comfortable, any needed items are provided, there's now a flat screen TV in the bedroom, and above all else, it's so convenient to get anywhere in Minneapolis! Lance is so accommodating and checked in during my stay to ensure everything was OK. The bed is so comfortable and it's great to return to after a long day and just settle in. The dining room is large enough to have people over for brunch or dinner and the second bedroom is a great place to put a suitcase or other items not needed during the stay, if no family member/friend is using it. This is clearly my #1 choice of places to stay when visiting my sons -- I will return again and again!- Trudy L , Posted: 05/20/2017
Lovely home
My Mother and I loved staying here! We had groceries stocked and ready for when we arrived, check in was a breeze and the home was very cozy!
We would definitely stay here again next time we are in town!- Hannah A , Posted:
Meet the Parents. We had a great, relaxing long weekend with our 85 year old moms in this home. They were crazy over the sunporch, especially for early morning coffee. An added bonus is that the house is so sound-proof, no one woke anyone else! My mom slept until 9:30 the first morning - and said she needs a mattress like that one - she was shocked at how well she CAN sleep! Certainly the dining room and outside canopy covered areas were highly used. We ate, and ate, and ate!It was a perfect spot to host our daughter's soon to be in-laws when they came for pizza! With our daughter staying in that area, we are sure to be back to this lovely home. A word of caution: book early! Our next dates are already spoken for at this lovely home. Lance, you were wonderful. Thank you for all you did above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. You will be seeing us several times a year! It's a real comfort to know the house and expectations for future visits, but especially the comfort it provided. Thanks again!- Karen L , Posted: 03/20/2017
Lovely all around! The duplex was comfortable and inviting. The neighborhood had everything you could want within walking distance. And Lance was quick to respond to any questions or requests. Perfect!- Kristi H , Posted: 06/12/2016
Best.Place.Ever. We had a short stay at this unit, our fourth stay here! It was a perfect few days, especially since it was our granddaughter's first baseball game! The unit is so comfortable -- plenty of space, many, many cable stations to choose from, Internet access, a welcoming bottle of wine, and the wonderful, relaxing sun porch after a long day. It's located on Nicollet Avenue, within walking distance of the Seward Co-op, the yummy Butter Cafe, and a short drive to gas stations, and other great places to eat. It's always immaculately clean and always welcoming. Lance is such an accommodating owner, ready to take care of the smallest issue that might come up. Without question, the "Best.Place.Ever." in Minneapolis!- Trudy L , Posted: 04/19/2016
Great Place. I have kept it saved so that we can stay here again next year.- Rich , Posted:
Comfortable historical home. The location of the home was excellent with several convenient businesses in walking distance. The street was busy but the home was set back so very little street noise was heard from wthin the home. The owner provided a clean, comfortable well decorated home, modern appliances, comfortable beds and plenty of supplies. This historical home contained original woodwork that was fantastic! Check out Pat's Tap and HOLA restaurants within a block....great food and refreshments!- Graham T , Posted: 07/27/2016
Property was exactly as described and better! This was our first stay here and Lance made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived! Thoughtful touches and needed items supplied. It felt like our second home! The kitchen, dining and living space are perfect - it allowed us to host a brunch easily and comfortably for our family in Minneapolis. Location is perfect-great restaurants within walking distance. It was nice that Lance provided detail and a map. We will be back and are already looking at availability to book our next stay.- Toni T , Posted: 07/09/2017
The arrangement of the living spaces was ideal for our extended family with small children to feed and entertain them without waking those still on West Coast time. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the place was immaculate (even under the sofas as we discovered when fetching rogue toys) and the kitchens were the best equipped that I have seen. The fenced backyard was an unexpected bonus for rambunctious kiddos. We chose to eat in, but the welcome book with restaurant suggestions was very interesting.- Eileen and Gus , Posted: 11/25/2017
Warm and Cozy. We spent a week in mid January. The house was very warm and had a break coach for hanging out and relaxing. Everything in the house was up to date and clean. It was a great option for travelers looking to skip the Hotel experience and relax in comfort.- Lazy Traveler , Posted: 01/22/2017
Great Minneapolis Location. Great place to stay. Location is very close to Uptown and downtown. Access to the freeway is also very close and easy. Place is very roomy and clean, the front sunroom is also very nice. Lance is easy to work with, getting in and checking out were both easier than any VRBO stay I have experienced. Great place, I will book again.- Wally M , Posted: 04/23/2016
Fantastic stay at a clean and comfortable place. We were in town for a family gathering and rented both units. It was comfortable and great for the 9 of us with kids/babies.
The beds are so comfortable.
The upstairs master suite is amazing!
I would definitely stay here again.- Freyja , Posted:
The property was very well taken care with all the amenities for the perfect vacation in MN! Great place for families! Lots of space to relax, many movies to watch, board games to play, etc. The bike rental was a great perk as there are many bike trails in the area, and lakes about two miles away. We appreciate the attention and care given to make this a great vacation property!- LeaAnn L , Posted: 08/05/2016
Very comfortable and home-like. Excellent location, will plan to return again!- TC , Posted: 02/09/2017
A great home away from home. We enjoyed our stay very much as the home was very welcoming and comfortable. It was exactly as advertised. The beds were comfortable. The house was very clean. The kitchen had all the cooking utensils and dishes we needed. Suggestions for restaurants and grocery stores were great. The only minor suggestions for improvement would be a bedside table in the second bedroom and luggage racks. We appreciated the quick responses to questions and the very accommodating manner of the host. We look forward to coming and staying here again- Karen V , Posted: 03/01/2016
Great Location, Lots Close by. My wife and I were looking forward to staying several nights at this property while we closed on purchasing a house in the neighborhood. It is classic South Minneapolis architecture with finished wood floors, ornate woodwork and a lovely sun porch where one can sip coffee while watching the morning activity. There is nothing like that in our home city of San Diego from where we are relocating. Our visit gave us a chance to experience the neighborhood's unique restaurants and convenient cafes. The house is close to downtown, the urban lakes and parks and the extensive "Greenway:" trail system. The Greenway allows biking, skating, running or walking on a dedicated, paved path that runs along the old railway right-of-way that used to service the grain mills of early Minneapolis (Mill City). It runs uninterrupted and free of motor vehicles for many miles to the outer suburbs. Trendy Uptown, just a few blocks away, offers more bars, restaurants and Lunds, a specialty grocery store. The Walker Art Center is just down the street from Uptown and we walked its' outdoor sculpture garden that sprawls beneath the edge of downtown. The property is on the city bus line and freeway access and exits are just around the corner. However, no freeway sound was noticeable. Access to the airport is easy from this location. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space for each resident to choose individual activities without disturbing co-lodgers. The gas stove was a treat and the full size fridge would serve the needs of a long stay. The host created an entertainment guide that was comprehensive, listing favored restaurants and lots of things to do. It was well presented to assure guests that they easily find the myriad of entertainment opportunities available in this community.- TJ W , Posted: 07/17/2016
Awesome! We loved staying here and plan to visit again! It was so clean, charming, great bed and just perfect! Lance was so attentive - best VRBO experience yet!- Bonnie L , Posted: 06/11/2017
Airbnb Review
We were extremely happy with Lance’s Minnestay Urban Oasis. There was a group of us, so we used both the first and second floor as well as the master suite on the third floor. My husband and I have stayed at many Airbnb’s and this house was the most fully decorated of any we’ve ever rented, and every mattress received rave reviews. The location is excellent and each floor has a lovely enclosed porch to hang out in. There were six of us and no one had a complaint. Lance was extremely helpful and responsive. We would all highly recommend staying here.- Jill , Posted:
Great Stay. This beautiful old home is located in uptown and the local area is fantastic. There is a lovely bakery with yummy coffee one block away. There are many other places to eat within a couple of miles and you can get virtually anywhere on the bus line. The home itself is great. The sunroom is especially nice during a rainstorm when you can watch the weather and hear it pound on the roof. I would love to be there when it is snowing. One of the bedrooms is very small, but the bed is super comfortable and it worked well for my adult children. Most of our time was spent in the large den and dining room. The internet is strong, cable works well, and the table was really great for game playing. The kitchen is small but very nice with updated appliances and a coffee maker. The master bedroom has the best bed ever. We slept really well because the place is really quiet. The only negative was the bathroom had a tub you must climb into without anything to hang onto. This made it a little tricky for my husband who has mobility issues. Also, the only usable mirror is in the bathroom, so if you have girls who need a mirror to get ready they should bring one along. Overall, this property is great location, beautiful, quiet, comfortable, and the owner is great. I would definitely stay there again.- Maureen J , Posted: 04/15/2017
Unique house with multiple options for privacy and separation on different floors. We rented the entire house for a friend weekend and loved that we could spread out on the different floors. Having the option to "get away" within the house was nice for our group! Loved the walkable neighborhood, too.- Frances , Posted:

Great house and great owner. The house was in a good location - close to freeways and restaurants. It was really clean and the bed was super comfortable. Lance responded to our request very quickly and was really accommodating. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived, something we've never seen from other VRBO rentals. He also had a basket of things such as a new toothbrush, shampoo, dental floss, and other similar things available if needed. These little touches make a big difference when you are traveling. I would definitely stay at this house again.- Ann B , Posted: 07/09/2017

PERFECT apartment..book it! I've been using VRBO for years and this apartment is easily one of the best places we've rented. First, the owner.....I have never been so impressed with communication! He responded to all emails FAST (even when he was away from home) was super helpful, and was happy to answer my many inquiries (having never been to Minneapolis, I had several questions!) The apartment.....SOOO charming! Beyond spotless! The owner cares about his property and it shows. I would rent it out to live in a heartbeat. Sparkling hardwood floors, great decor, original details (glass doorknobs, mouldings, etc.) Just perfect. COZY! We stayed in and cooked dinner one night and watched a movie. The living room sectional is big and comfy and coffee in the sunroom is an amazing way to start the day. Apartment had everything we needed. Location....perfect for accessing all areas and neighborhoods. Uptown has a ton going on and walking around the nearby lakes was lovely. And it's a quick drive to anywhere you want to be! The city is so drivable!! Maybe it's me being a native New Yorker, but man, did I appreciate no traffic and the ease of taking drives throughout the city, checking everything out. Book this apartment...you won't be sorry. It was awesome!- Debyo , Posted: 04/21/2017
